Ultrasound Instructions You must have a full bladder for this procedure. Beginning one (1) hour prior to your exam, drink one (1) 8-ounce glass of water every 15 minutes for a total of 32 ounces. Remember, DO NOT VOID. Your bladder MUST be full. Glucose Test Instructions You will be having your screen for diabetes in pregnancy on this visit. You may eat normally before you come, but avoid sugary foods like candy bars and pop. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be given a fruity glucose drink. After you drink it, you may only drink water – no gum, mints, food, cigarettes or any other liquids. You will have blood drawn one hour after you finish the glucose drink. You will need to plan to stay in the office for this hour and will usually be seen for a visit during this time. Do not plan to run errands or shop during this hour. We ask that you kindly notify us if you are unable to make your scheduled appointment. If you fail to give us 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged a fee. This fee is not covered by insurance.

Please visit our Accepted Insurance Plans section above to view the different insurances we accept.
We currently accept OB self-pay patients. On your first visit, you will be asked to pay our global delivery fee in full. We accept cash or credit cards for this payment, no personal checks. This covers your in-office doctor's visits, our doctor's delivery fee and your post-partum visit. This does not include any ultrasounds, lab work or the hospital fee. If you have any questions, please call our billing office at 816-741-9122. For your convenience, we accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover cards.
Yes, it is very important that you bring your current insurance card(s) with you. If you do not have an insurance card yet, we will attempt to file for you with a copy of your enrollment form from your employer. If neither of these is available, you will be considered self-pay and will be required to pay at the time of service. Your co-pay is due prior to your office visit.
If you are coming to our office for your pregnancy, you may want to contact your insurance company in regard to your maternity benefit. Our billing office will be contacting them also and will be making financial arrangements with you. Please feel free to call our billing office at 816-741-9122 if you have any further questions.Important Phone Numbers

We will send you a reminder letter approximately three (3) months prior to when you are due for your annual. Our doctors normally schedule three (3) months in advance, so please call to schedule even if you do not receive a letter.
Yes. Please visit the First Visit section of our website. You can securely submit the completed forms online - you must arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment and you must have all paperwork completed prior to that or you will be asked to reschedule. If you are an established patient (seen in the last 3 years), you must arrive on time or you will be asked to reschedule. Please remember to bring your current insurance card(s) and your driver’s license or other photo I.D. to your visit. If you have any previous medical history that may pertain to your visit, please contact your former physician and bring the records with you. If they require a medical records release form, please click here and submit the form to our office or you can print it and send it to your former physician.
Your first OB visit will be with our nurse practitioner. This visit will last approximately one hour. The nurse practitioner will do a Pap smear, you will have lab work done and you will go over any questions you might have on this visit. The nurse practitioner will then inform you who your primary doctor will be for your OB care unless you have a requested provider. We deliver only at Liberty Hospital, which has an excellent maternity center and Level II nursery. If you know you have a high-risk condition (this does not include previous miscarriage or infertility), please notify our office prior to your new OB appointment. If you have any previous medical history that may pertain to your OB care, please contact your former physician and bring your records with you.
Yes! Please call our Maternity Care Coordinator at 816-792-7227 to schedule an appointment or watch an online video here. Please leave a message explaining that you are interested in delivering at Liberty Hospital and that you would like to take a tour of the unit. Our Maternity Care Coordinator will call you back to schedule a time to meet. Because of the infant security at the hospital, you need to schedule an appointment as opposed to walking in without notice. You can also visit the Liberty Hospital Maternity webpage for information by clicking here.
